1 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves-minced
1 medium onion-chopped
1 15oz can tomato puree
1 6oz can tomato paste
2 tbsp red wine
2 tsp crushed red pepper
2 tsp capers
2 tbsp minced basil
1 1/2lb shelled and deveined medium shrimps
In a heavy skillet heat the oil. add the garlic and onion and saute for 5 minutes add the tomato puree and tomato paste. bring to a boil.
Add the red wine, red pepper and capers. Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add the shrimp and cook over low heat for 4-5 minutes until shrimp just turn pink. serve over pasta if desired.
This dish takes usually only about 15 minutes to prepare!
